Scripture
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”—1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV
Devotional
Paul grounds faithful work in the resurrection of Jesus. Because Christ has conquered death, everything offered to Him carries lasting significance. The kingdom He is building will endure, and the labor joined to His purposes is never lost.
Some work produces visible results, while other work asks us to continue without knowing what it is accomplishing. Prayers may remain unanswered, service may go unnoticed, and obedience may seem to change very little. The risen Christ sees the full story. He receives what is done in faith and uses it according to wisdom greater than ours.
Jesus gives us reason to remain steadfast. Our confidence rests in His victory, His presence, and His power to bring fruit from faithful obedience. We can continue the work before us with hope because nothing entrusted to Christ is ever wasted.
