"And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." – Ephesians 5:2
Devotional Reflection
Love is not just something we feel—it is something we live out daily. Ephesians 5:2 calls us to walk in love, following the example of Christ, who gave Himself sacrificially for us. His love was not passive or conditional; it was active, costly, and selfless. To love as Christ loves is to choose kindness over convenience, humility over pride, and sacrifice over selfishness.
Walking in love means that love is not reserved for grand gestures but woven into our everyday lives. It’s found in the patience we show to others, the grace we extend in difficult moments, and the compassion we offer to those in need. Christ’s love wasn’t just spoken—it was lived, and we are called to do the same.
How can you walk in love today? Ask God to help you see opportunities to reflect His love in both small and significant ways. Let your life be a fragrant offering that points others to Him.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer: (Inhale) Teach me to walk in love…(Exhale) As Christ has loved me.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer: Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to settle your heart. As you inhale, silently pray the first part of the phrase (e.g., “Teach me to walk in love…”), and as you exhale, pray the second part (e.g., “…as Christ has loved me.”). Repeat the prayer slowly for 2–5 minutes, allowing your heart to be shaped by the love of Christ.
Practical Application
Look for Small Ways to Love: Find one simple way to show Christ-like love today—through a kind word, an act of service, or offering encouragement.
Reflect on Christ’s Love: Read through Ephesians 5:2 and meditate on how Christ’s sacrificial love calls you to live differently.
Choose Love Over Self: When faced with a choice between personal comfort and loving someone sacrificially, choose to walk in love.
