“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”—Psalm 27:14 ESV

Devotional

Waiting often reveals how deeply we want clarity, resolution, or control. David speaks to his own heart and calls it back to the Lord. Courage grows as he remembers that God remains trustworthy even while the outcome is still unseen.

Jesus gives our waiting a secure foundation. Through His death and resurrection, He has shown that God is always working toward redemption, even when His work appears hidden. Christ is present in the unanswered prayer, the delayed direction, and the season that seems to be moving slowly.

As we wait, the Spirit strengthens our hearts to remain faithful today. We can continue praying, obeying, and receiving the grace Christ provides without forcing the future into place. The Lord we are waiting for has already come near, and He will sustain us until His purposes unfold.
