Your Life Is Hidden With Christ
Much of the Christian life happens in hidden places — places where answers are not immediate, progress is not visible, and God’s work feels quiet and slow. Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:3 that our true life is “hidden with Christ in God.” Hiddenness is not abandonment. It is protection, formation, and belonging. God often does His deepest work out of sight, shaping us in ways that are no less real simply because they are unseen.
This hidden life invites us to trust that God is present even when He feels silent. Waiting seasons can prompt us to question our growth, our purpose, or our direction, but Scripture teaches that growth is not always measurable by outward movement. Some of God’s holiest work happens underground, like roots strengthening before anything breaks through the soil.
Isaiah 45:15 echoes this mystery: “Truly, you are a God who hides himself…” God’s hiddenness is not a withdrawal but an invitation into deeper faith — a faith not anchored in what we can see, but in who He is. When we accept that our life is kept securely in Christ, we discover freedom from the pressure to prove ourselves or to force our own timing.
Hiddenness becomes sacred when we remember that Christ Himself lived much of His life unseen — decades of quiet faithfulness before His public ministry. If the Son of God embraced hidden years, ours are not wasted.
Practice
Spend a few quiet moments acknowledging any area of life that feels unseen or slow.
Pray:
“Lord, hide me in You. Teach me to trust Your work in the unseen places.”
Reflection Question
Where is God inviting me to trust Him even when I cannot see the outcome?
