Scripture Focus
“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.’”
— Matthew 28:5–6 (ESV)
Devotional Reflection
Easter morning begins in quiet grief—but it ends in wonder. The women came to the tomb expecting sorrow. Instead, they found the stone rolled away and the words that changed everything: He is not here. He is risen.
The resurrection is not loud. It doesn’t arrive with spectacle. It happens in the stillness of early morning, in a garden, announced to those who simply showed up to love Jesus. This is the sacred simplicity of the Gospel: death is defeated, love has triumphed, and Christ is alive.
This is not just an event—it is a turning point for all creation. And yet, it comes with gentleness. The risen Jesus meets His friends on the road, in a garden, around a table. He doesn’t demand awe—He invites relationship.
Simplicity finds its fullness in resurrection. The clutter of fear, striving, and shame falls away in the light of new life. We don’t have to earn this victory—we only have to receive it. The empty tomb means we can live unburdened, with hearts made whole.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer:
Inhale: Christ is risen…
Exhale: My heart rejoices in You.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer:
As the sun rises or you start your day, take a deep breath of joy.
Speak the breath prayer slowly, rejoicing with each repetition.
Let resurrection joy steady and simplify your soul.
Practical Application
Celebrate the resurrection with simplicity today. Instead of rushing through festivities, carve out a moment to sit in stillness and say thank You. Write a short list of what Jesus’ resurrection means to you—let it become a daily reminder of hope.

Risen Savior, thank You for defeating death and offering me life. I rejoice in Your victory. Let this be more than a day—I want to live in the simplicity and joy of the resurrection every day. Awaken my heart again to the beauty of Your presence. Amen.
