“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.’”
— Matthew 28:5-6
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.”
— Luke 24:5b-6a
Devotional Reflection
The stone was rolled away—not so Jesus could get out, but so we could see in. The tomb was empty. The grave could not hold Him. Death could not defeat Him. He is risen.
These three words are the foundation of our hope. In a world where death, despair, and darkness often seem to have the final word, Easter morning resounds with a different story—a victorious story. Christ has overcome.
What began in sorrow ends in celebration. The long night gives way to the dawn. In His resurrection, Jesus has not only defeated death but has ushered in new life for all who believe in Him. This is not just an event to remember—it is a reality to live into.
You do not walk in darkness anymore. Because He lives, you are free to live fully, boldly, and joyfully in the light of His victory.
Let the empty tomb remind you: God keeps His promises. Christ is alive, and because of that, your hope is alive too.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer:
(Inhale) Jesus, You are risen indeed.
(Exhale) I live in the power of Your resurrection.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer:
Breathe deeply and slowly. As you inhale, celebrate the risen Christ. As you exhale, release any fear or doubt, and rest in the victory of His resurrection.
Practical Application
• Celebrate New Life. Reflect on one area of your life where you’ve experienced the resurrecting power of Christ—healing, restoration, freedom.
• Live in Resurrection Hope. Let your words, actions, and attitude today reflect the truth that Jesus is alive and active in your life.
• Share the Good News. Just as the women ran to tell the others, consider who in your life needs to hear that hope is alive.
Journal Prompt
What does the resurrection of Jesus mean for your life today—not just in eternity, but in your everyday reality? How can you live as someone who believes the tomb is truly empty?
Closing Prayer
Jesus, You are alive, and because of that, everything has changed. Thank You for conquering the grave and defeating sin and death once and for all. Help me to live in the joy, hope, and freedom of Your resurrection. Let my life declare, “He is risen indeed!” Amen.
Invitation to Live with Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
The tomb is empty, and Christ is risen. Let your life be a reflection of resurrection joy—full of hope, alive with purpose, grounded in truth.
