Sent With Purpose

The resurrection does not end in stillness. It leads to sending.

After appearing to His disciples, restoring them, and grounding them in His presence, Jesus gives them direction: “Go.” This is not a suggestion. It is the natural continuation of everything they have experienced. What they have received is now meant to be carried outward.

This matters because it reframes how we understand purpose. Purpose is not something we construct for ourselves. It is something we step into as we respond to Christ. The same authority that raised Him from the dead now stands behind His command. “All authority… has been given to me. Go therefore…”

The “therefore” is everything.

Because He is risen.

Because He has authority.

Because He is alive — you are sent.

This does not mean everyone is sent in the same way, but it does mean no one is left without purpose. Resurrection life is not meant to be contained. It moves outward through love, through witness, through the way we live and speak and carry the presence of Christ into the world around us.

Acts 1:8 echoes this: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” You are not sent alone. You are empowered.

The question is not whether you have a purpose.

It is whether you are willing to walk in it.

Resurrection is not just something to hold.

It is something to carry.

Practice

Ask God to show you one place in your life where you are being invited to live on mission — a conversation, a relationship, or a moment of obedience.

Pray:

“Jesus, help me live as someone who is sent by You.”
