Devotional Reflection
To be rooted and grounded in love is to find our foundation, security, and nourishment in Christ. Just as a tree’s strength comes from its roots, our strength comes from being anchored in the love of God. It is from this place that we can grow, flourish, and withstand the storms of life.
Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:17-19 is not only that we know about God’s love but that we experience it in every dimension—its width, length, height, and depth. His love is wide enough to embrace the whole world, long enough to last through eternity, high enough to reach the heavens, and deep enough to meet us in our lowest moments.
This love is more than a concept; it is a reality to be experienced. But to grasp it fully, we must stay rooted—consistently seeking His presence, abiding in His Word, and living in community with His people. The more deeply we are rooted in Him, the more we grow in our understanding of His love, and the more we reflect that love to the world around us.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer: (Inhale) Root me in Your love…(Exhale) Establish me in Your grace.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer: Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to settle your heart. As you inhale, pray, “Root me in Your love…” and as you exhale, “Establish me in Your grace.” Repeat the prayer slowly for 2–5 minutes, allowing it to deepen your awareness of God’s love surrounding you.
Practical Application
Reflect on Your Roots: What is your heart currently rooted in—God’s love or something else? Ask God to deepen your roots in His truth.
Explore the Dimensions of His Love: Spend time meditating on Ephesians 3:17-19, imagining the width, length, height, and depth of God’s love. Write down what comes to mind.
Be a Source of Love: Just as healthy roots produce fruit, let your life bear the fruit of love today—through a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, or a moment of compassion.

Closing Prayer
Father, root me deeply in Your love so that my life may be anchored in Your truth. Help me to grasp how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love truly is. Let Your love be the foundation of my heart and the source of my actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
