"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Devotional Reflection
We live in a world that often defines love by emotions, attraction, or what we can gain from others. But 1 Corinthians 13 paints a different picture—one of a love that is patient, kind, selfless, and enduring. This kind of love is not based on feelings but on choice, not on convenience but on commitment. It is the love that God extends to us and the love He calls us to reflect in our relationships.
Patience and kindness are not just surface-level virtues; they require surrender. To be patient is to choose grace over frustration, to trust God’s timing in others' growth, and to endure without resentment. To be kind is to seek the good of others, even when it costs us something.
Loving like this is impossible without God’s help. But when we allow His love to shape us, we begin to reflect His heart in the way we treat those around us. Today, ask yourself: how is God calling me to love with patience and kindness?
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer: (Inhale) Teach me to love with patience…(Exhale) And to show kindness like You.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer: Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to settle your heart. As you inhale, silently pray the first part of the phrase (e.g., “Teach me to love with patience…”), and as you exhale, pray the second part (e.g., “…and to show kindness like You.”). Repeat the prayer slowly for 2–5 minutes, letting it soften your heart and align you with God’s love.
Practical Application
Practice Patience: Think of a situation where you’ve been impatient—with a person, a process, or even yourself. Choose today to extend grace instead of frustration.
Show Unexpected Kindness: Find a way to bless someone today—a kind word, a thoughtful action, or a moment of encouragement. Let your love be intentional.
Examine Your Love: Reflect on the characteristics of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Which one do you struggle with the most? Ask God to help you grow in that area.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me with a love that is patient, kind, and unchanging. Teach me to reflect that love in my relationships—not just when it’s easy, but when it’s hard. Help me to choose patience over frustration and kindness over indifference. Let my love be a reflection of Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
