Loving Christ with Your Whole Heart

Worship is the practice of responding to the beauty, majesty, and worthiness of Jesus Christ with our whole lives. It is more than music or a moment in a church service—it is the joyful offering of our attention, affection, and allegiance to the One who is worthy of all praise. Worship begins not with what we do for God, but with seeing who Christ is and responding to Him in faith and love.

When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, He answered in Matthew 22:37 (ESV), “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Worship is the expression of that wholehearted love. As we behold Christ in His holiness, mercy, wisdom, and grace, our hearts are drawn away from lesser loves and toward the One who alone can satisfy. We become like what we love, and worship is one of God's primary means of shaping us into the likeness of His Son.

Because of the gospel, worship is never an attempt to earn God's acceptance. Through Christ, we have already been welcomed into the Father's presence. Our praise is the grateful response of those who have been redeemed. Every prayer, every song, every act of obedience, and every surrendered moment becomes an offering of thanksgiving to the Savior who first loved us.

Guided Practice

Today, intentionally set your heart on Christ.

• Read a passage that reveals the character and work of Jesus.

• Spend time worshiping through song, prayer, or quiet praise.

• Write down three reasons Christ is worthy of your worship today.

• Thank Him first for who He is before thanking Him for what He has done.

• Offer one area of your life to Him in joyful surrender.

Whenever your attention begins to drift today, simply pray:

"Jesus, You alone are worthy. Help me keep my heart fixed on You."

Let worship become the posture that shapes everything else you do.

Pray:

"Lord Jesus, You are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. Capture my heart with the beauty of who You are. Teach me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind, and let my entire life become an act of worship that brings You glory."
