Seeing the Glory of Christ in Scripture
Study is the practice of carefully examining God's Word so that we may know Him more truly and love Him more deeply. While reading familiarizes us with Scripture and meditation helps us linger over it, study invites us to slow down, ask thoughtful questions, and discover the richness of what God has revealed. It is an act of worship that engages both our minds and our hearts.
Jesus told the religious leaders in John 5:39 (ESV), “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me.” The purpose of Bible study is not merely to accumulate knowledge but to encounter Christ. Every page of Scripture contributes to the unfolding story of God's redemption, culminating in the life, death, resurrection, and reign of Jesus. The more carefully we study God's Word, the more clearly we see His Son.
Study also forms wisdom. It teaches us to read Scripture in its context, to understand God's character, and to discern His truth amid competing voices. Rather than approaching the Bible merely to find quick answers, we learn to approach it with humility, asking the Holy Spirit to illuminate our minds and transform our hearts. True study always leads beyond information to worship, obedience, and deeper communion with Christ.

Pray:
