Receive
“Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.”
Exodus 20:9–10 (ESV)
Reflect
Sabbath is a weekly return to trust. It reminds you that your life is sustained by God, not by constant effort or productivity. By stopping, you release the need to prove, produce, or perform. In this rest, your strength is renewed and your heart is re-centered on God’s faithful care.
Respond — Today’s Practice
Set aside intentional time to stop.
Stop working.
Stop striving.
Stop trying to get ahead.
Choose one or two restorative practices—quiet, prayer, delight, time outdoors, or unhurried connection.
Receive rest as obedience, not indulgence.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to rest in Your care and trust Your provision.
Blessing
May rest renew your strength, quiet your striving, and deepen your trust in God’s faithful presence.
