Rejoicing in Christ Together

Celebration is the practice of joyfully remembering and responding to the goodness of God. It is the discipline of gratitude, delight, and praise—a weekly reminder that the Christian life is not only about repentance and perseverance, but also about rejoicing in the finished work of Christ. Celebration lifts our eyes from what is unfinished to the One who has been faithful in every season.

The psalmist invites God's people, “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” in Psalms 95:1–2 (ESV). Joy has always been the fitting response to God's saving work. Now, because of Jesus, our celebration reaches its fullest expression. Through His death and resurrection, we have been forgiven, adopted into God's family, and given an inheritance that cannot perish. Our joy rests not in changing circumstances but in the unchanging Christ.

Celebration also forms hope. When we intentionally remember God's faithfulness, we strengthen our confidence in His future promises. Every answered prayer, every evidence of grace, every gathering with God's people, and every glimpse of His goodness becomes a reminder that the story is moving toward the day when Christ will make all things new. Celebration teaches us to live with hearts that are both grateful for what God has done and eager for what He has promised.

Guided Practice

Today, intentionally celebrate the goodness of God.

• Gather with God's people in worship if you are able.

• Spend time thanking Christ for specific ways He has been faithful this week.

• Share a testimony of God's goodness or encourage someone with what He has been teaching you.

• Enjoy one of God's gifts—a meal, fellowship, creation, music, or rest—and receive it with gratitude rather than entitlement.

• End the day by praising God for who He is, not only for what He has given.

Pray:

"Father, thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness. Fill my heart with joy that is rooted in Christ, and teach me to delight in Your goodness each day. Let my life become a testimony of Your grace and a celebration of Your love."
