Scripture Focus
Then the women said to Naomi, ‘Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowned in Israel! He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is more to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.’" – Ruth 4:14–15 (ESV)
Devotional Reflection
Naomi began her journey home feeling empty and convinced God’s hand was against her. Yet here she stands at the end of Ruth’s story, holding a grandson who would carry the lineage of King David—and one day, the Messiah.
The women of the town could see what Naomi could not have imagined at the start: God had been weaving goodness into her life all along. Loss had not been the end of her story.
Sometimes our hearts struggle to trust God because all we can see is what’s been taken from us. But the God who is faithful does not stop at loss—He restores, nourishes, and redeems in ways we never expected. Naomi’s arms, once empty, were now full again, not because her original losses were undone, but because God brought new life into her future.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
God’s goodness is at work even in the chapters you thought were finished.
Breath Prayer: Inhale: “You are restoring…” Exhale: “…more than I can imagine.”
Practical Application
Think of a time when you saw God bring something good out of a hard season. Write it down as a testimony of His faithfulness, and keep it where you can revisit it when trust feels difficult.
Journal Prompt
Where might God be working right now in ways I cannot yet see? How can remembering His past faithfulness help me trust Him in the present?
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the Redeemer who restores life. When I cannot see Your hand at work, help me to believe that Your goodness is still writing my story. Teach me to hope again, knowing that You are faithful from beginning to end. Amen.
Invitation to Live with Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
Trust deepens when we remember that God’s goodness is not bound by what we’ve lost. His redemption always has more to give.
