Scripture Focus:
Matthew 28:5–6 (ESV)“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.’”
He Is Risen
The silence is broken.
The stone is moved. The tomb is empty. And the words that change everything are spoken: “He is not here… he has risen.”
Resurrection is not symbolic. It is not a metaphor for new beginnings or a hopeful idea we hold onto. It is an event — a decisive act of God that reshapes reality itself. Death has been confronted and overcome. What seemed final has been undone.
The same Jesus who was crucified now stands alive.
This means that everything He said is true. Every promise holds. Every word stands. The cross was not the end — it was the doorway. What looked like defeat has become victory. What looked like loss has become life.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The resurrection answers both questions. Death no longer has the final word. Sin no longer has ultimate authority. The future is no longer uncertain.
And this is not distant truth.
Romans 6:4 tells us, “Just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too might walk in newness of life.” Resurrection is not only something we celebrate — it is something we step into. The life of Christ is now the life we are invited to live.
Everything that felt final is now open.Everything that felt lost is now held in hope.Everything that felt uncertain is now secured.
He is risen. And because He lives, so do you.
Practice
Take a moment to pause and say it aloud:
“He is risen.”
Let that truth settle deeply.
Then pray:“Jesus, help me live in the reality of Your resurrection today.”
Reflection Question
What would change in my life if I truly believed that the resurrection is shaping my present, not just my future?
