Scripture Focus:
Romans 8:11 (ESV)
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you… he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
The Promise Is Sure
As Lent nears its end, we are invited to rest in something firm and unshakable: the promise of resurrection is not uncertain. Paul reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now dwells within us. This is not only a future hope — it is a present reality that anchors our lives in confidence.
The resurrection is not a distant idea we look toward with hesitation. It is a completed act of God that secures everything He has promised. Because Christ has been raised, death does not have the final word. Because Christ lives, new life is not a possibility — it is a certainty.
This changes how we hold our present circumstances. What feels unfinished is not forgotten. What feels broken is not beyond restoration. God’s power has already been revealed in the resurrection of Jesus, and that same power is at work in us, even now.
1 Corinthians 15:20 calls Christ “the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep,” meaning His resurrection is the beginning of a greater harvest to come. What God has done in Him, He will also do for His people. The promise is not fragile. It is rooted in the faithfulness of God Himself.
As we prepare to enter Holy Week, we remember that the cross is not the end of the story. The resurrection stands behind it, ahead of it, and within it — shaping how we understand everything in between.
The promise is sure.
Life will come.
Practice
Take a moment to reflect on one area of your life that feels uncertain or unresolved.
Bring it before God and pray:
“Lord, help me trust what You have already secured.”
Let yourself rest in the certainty of His promise.
Reflection Question
Where do I need to remember that God’s promise is already secure?
