Scripture Focus:
1 Peter 1:8–9 (ESV)
“Though you have not seen him, you love him… you rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
Joy Set Before You
As we draw nearer to Easter, hope becomes more than something we look toward — it becomes something we begin to taste. Peter writes to believers who have not seen Jesus, yet they love Him and rejoice with a deep, steady joy. This joy is not dependent on circumstances. It is rooted in the certainty of what God has already secured and what He is still bringing to completion.
This means that joy is not only ahead of you — it is also being formed within you. The outcome of your faith is not uncertain. Salvation is not fragile. God is not hesitant in His work. Even now, He is leading you toward fullness of life with Him.
Psalm 16:11 reminds us, “In your presence there is fullness of joy.” This joy is not distant. It is found in relationship with God — in knowing Him, trusting Him, and walking with Him through every season. As we move toward the resurrection, we begin to see that joy is not something we wait to receive at the end of the story. It is something that grows as we remain near to Christ.
Lent has led us through humility, repentance, surrender, and waiting. Now it begins to open our eyes to what has been true all along: God has been leading us toward life.
The joy set before you is not uncertain.
It is already secured in Christ.
Practice
Take a moment to reflect on where you have seen even a small glimpse of joy, peace, or hope during this Lent season.
Thank God for it specifically.
Pray:
“Lord, help me recognize and receive the joy You are already growing in me.”
Reflection Question
Where have I already begun to experience the joy God is leading me toward?
