Know What You Are Running Toward

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 3:14 ESV

Devotional

Paul lived with a clear aim because Christ had become the defining pursuit of his life. The goal before him was deeper fellowship with Jesus, greater conformity to His character, and faithfulness to the call he had received through grace.

A life without a clear direction can become crowded with good intentions, competing priorities, and constant activity. Christ gathers our scattered attention and gives every part of life a true center. Our work, relationships, habits, and decisions find their proper purpose as they lead us toward knowing Him and reflecting His life.

Running with aim means returning often to the question of direction. The pace may change, the path may include seasons of waiting, and progress may feel slower than expected. Jesus remains the goal. Because He has already made us His own, we can press forward with confidence that every faithful step taken with Him carries eternal purpose.
