Devotional
Jesus does not call His disciples first to a task, a platform, or a position. He calls them to Himself. “Follow me” is an invitation to place their lives under His leadership, remain near His presence, and learn His way of living in the world.
The promise that follows is just as important: “I will make you.” The disciples would not transform themselves into faithful servants through determination alone. As they walked with Jesus, listened to His words, witnessed His compassion, and received His grace, He would form them into the people He intended them to become.
The same is true for us. Following Jesus is not an attempt to prove that we are worthy of His call. It is trusting that the One who calls us is also able to shape us. We may not yet possess all the wisdom, courage, or maturity the journey will require, but Christ does not ask us to become ready before we follow. He asks us to stay close and allow His Spirit to form His life within us.

Where is Jesus asking you to follow Him before you feel fully prepared, and how might you trust Him to form you along the way?
