Finish the Race

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”—2 Timothy 4:7 ESV

Devotional

Paul looks back on his life and sees a course completed through faithfulness to Jesus. His journey included suffering, opposition, weakness, and uncertainty, yet Christ remained worthy of every step. Finishing the race meant continuing to trust, obey, and proclaim the Savior who had called him.

The race of faith is lived across many ordinary days. It is shaped through prayers offered when answers feel delayed, obedience practiced when no one notices, repentance after failure, and renewed trust in seasons of difficulty. Christ meets us in each of these moments and forms perseverance within us through His Spirit.

We finish well by keeping the faith entrusted to us and keeping our eyes on Jesus. He has already completed the work of redemption, conquered death, and secured our future with Him. The Savior who called us into the race will remain faithful through every mile and welcome us at the finish.
