Come & See

“He said to them, ‘Come and you will see.’ So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day.”—John 1:39 ESV

Devotional

Jesus does not first invite the disciples to understand everything about Him. He invites them to come near. Their journey begins not with complete certainty, spiritual maturity, or a detailed plan, but with the presence of Christ Himself.

“Come and see” is an invitation to discover who Jesus is through relationship with Him. He is not a distant truth to be studied from afar or merely a guide for improving our lives. He is the Son of God who welcomes us into fellowship with Himself, allowing us to know His character, hear His words, and see the Father through Him.

We often want Jesus to explain where He is leading before we follow. Yet Christ frequently gives us Himself before He gives us clarity. As we remain with Him in Scripture, prayer, and obedience, we begin to see that knowing Jesus is not simply preparation for the Christian life. Knowing Him is the Christian life.
